Complete Smile Makeover!

Thousand Oaks Family Dentistry- Veneers BY.jpg

What makes a perfect smile "pop?"

Today's patient came to our office wanting a smile that exuded natural beauty. Their existing teeth had a general "flat" appearance with uneven wear on the edges. Younger/cosmetically desirable teeth tend to have more variance in shape between adjacent teeth and more symmetry across the midline. Each tooth has unique anatomic features, and a great smile captures these subtle differences!

To create this transformation, Dr. Kari Ann Hong prepared the patient's anterior teeth (from canine to canine) for dental crowns. Impressions were taken and sent to Opus One Dental Lab where six crowns were fashioned from Emax lithium disilicate material. Emax allows us to make hyper-realistic crowns that capture the translucency and shading of natural enamel while remaining resistant to fracture. The result is absolutely stunning! If you would like to know more about dental crowns, smile esthetics or cosmetic dentistry, please give our office a call!

Brushing Duke's Teeth

Here you can really see his first two teeth!

What a great moment caught on video! Here is Dr. Kari's son Duke having his teeth brushed for the first time. His two lower teeth came in at 6 months and now at 7 months they are almost fully erupted. They get brushed twice a day with a children's toothbrush soaked in water. He loves holding the brush and sucking the water off the bristles. We can't wait to share more dental milestones to come!

Duke John Warren was baptized Sunday April 19th, 2015 at St. Matthews Episcopal Church. He was joined by his godparents Aunt Vicki and his Daddy's best friend Bruce. Duke didn't mind the water from the baptism and made it through the service with minimal cooing. He is almost 11 weeks old now! We hope everyone got to enjoy this weekend with their friends and family!

Here, they are photoed in front of the Lahaina United Methodist Church where they attended Easter Service. Locally, the Hongs are very involved with the United Methodist Church of Thousand Oaks. Consider this a big "Aloha" from our office to you!

Dear patients and friends,

On February 4th 2015, Dr. Kari Hong's family grew by one! Baby Duke John Warren was born at 2:18pm, weighing in at 7lbs and 12oz and measuring 21.5 inches in length. We are glad to report both mother and child are happy and healthy. Congratulations Dr. Kari!

As a short reminder, Dr. Kari will remain out of the office until the end of next week (tentatively). However, our hygienists and front office staff will still be holding appointments in the meantime. If you have any questions or dental emergencies, we will still be available to assist you!
